Instructor Cole

Instructor Cole comes to Northwest Defense Academy with extensive training and experience in the United States Marine Corps as well as instructor certification through the NRA for both pistol and rifle courses. 

While serving as a Security Forces Marine stationed at Kings Bay in Georgia Cole attended and graduated with honors from Weapons and Field Training Battalion located on Parris Island in South Carolina. He was at this time certified as  a Combat Marksmanship Coach. He returned to his post at Kings Bay and gained additional training and experience working alongside the USMC Close Quarter Battle Teams while serving as a team leader and conducting daily security operations, leading Marines in the performance of their duties as they assessed and responded to security threats and concerns. 

After serving at Kings Bay Cole was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina where he served as team leader and squad leader and received additional training in Intelligence and Communications. While stationed at Camp Lejeune he participated in a humanitarian aid mission within the United States before being deployed to Norway. Cole is proud to have served our country by securing patient transportation during recent medical crises, providing security operations for US Naval vessels and installations alongside US Navy personnel, as well as providing instruction to military personnel on both security and marksmanship. 

From his experience teaching marksmanship and security implementation he has developed a teaching style that tailors itself to the unique strengths his students already possess. Cole believes that, by evaluating each individual's abilities and objectives, the most effective way to apply techniques and theories on combat, shooting accuracy, and situational awareness is to refine the user's skills and build on their weaknesses.
