Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT)
We agree with HSI when they say “When violence occurs, seconds count, and you can't always wait for EMS to arrive.” In this spirit, we’ve specially trained our most skilled instructors to respond in active homicide events, and we’re putting their expertise to your disposal. In this course, NWDA instructors will teach end-users to:
Use environmental awareness to recognize early warning signs of mass-homicide events.
Determine the best route to survival via evade, attack, or escape strategies.
Confidently utilize stop-bleeding techniques to save lives while waiting for paramedics to arrive on-scene.
Respond effectively in most emergency situations.
Our instructors reserve the right to refuse to allow completion of the course for individuals who are assessed during the course to be a safety risk to themselves or the public. Participants must be over the age of 18, unless accompanied by a legal guardian.
